A national movement is fast emerging, clearly demanding for a Ban on the EVMs & return to the Ballot Paper. This movement requires closer coordination & action at the national level.
The movement is witnessing a dialogue between diverse democratic social movements, mass organisations, as well as political parties. But the initiative is clearly emerging from the social movements who have already taken to the streets to protest.
We thus propose the following structure for further discussion.
The EVM Virodhi Rashtriya Jan-Andolan will be headed by a National President, aided by a National Steering Committee & a team of National Coordinators.
We will also set up an Advisory Committee where we will include many important individuals and leaders from various walks of life.
The Andolan will be as open as possible so as to include as many representatives of like-minded organisations as possible.
We will also set up a national Research Team, comprising of technological experts in the study of the EVM based electoral system.
A national Social media team will be created as well.
The movement shall strive to maintain our national diversity.
A similar structure will be established at the State & local levels.
